The Grenache (Garnatxa Negra – “gn”) is from 30+ year old vines at Mas de Cabrera. The calcareous soil is very poor in organic matter, and the heat of 2018 resulted in a low yield of very concentrated fruit.
The grapes were hand picked before undergoing a 5 day cold soak. Fermentation followed at up to 26°C in stainless steel, with regular punchdowns. Malolactic fermentation and 21 months maturation was carried out in a mixture of old and new 300 litre French oak barrels. This wine is bottled unfiltered.

A fruit driven red with well integrated oak and smooth tannins. Ripe red and black fruits dominate the nose and the palate, with notes of cedar and toffee.
Excellent with char gilled steaks or roast meats, pizza and strong cheeses. As a 100% Vegan wine it is ideal served with rich pulse laden casseroles or mushroom based dishes.
The wine is ready for drinking now and should ideally be served at 16-18°C. It can also be lightly chilled in the heat of summer.
