Celler Piñol is a family run cellar devoted to the winemaking of fine wines based in Batea (DO Terra Alta). Now in their third generation, the business is run by Joanjo Galcera Piñol. Joanjo seems to be everywhere, and is as likely to be seen on a flight to Tokyo as in the vineyards on his doorstep. The wine is made mostly using organically grown grapes from our their own vineyards in and around the town of Batea in Terra Alta.
Reinforcing their heritage, many of the families wines are named after family members, uncles, grandparents, parents, who have all been part of putting the winery on the map.
Passion, enthusiasm and love for the vines and work that makes the wines unique and famous all around the world. The business has a very international focus and is becoming a reference for quality in the area, highlighted by respected reviewers Peñin, Jancis Robinson, Parker (all their wines rated between 90-95 Points in The Wine Advocate), Tanzer and are regularly selected among the best wines in some of the most prestigious wine magazines.
